Cassidy D'Amour, LCSW
Clinical Assessment Specialist
Cassidy D’Amour earned both a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). While in undergraduate school, she acquired a minor and certificate in addiction treatment services and began her career working as an alcohol and drug counselor. Cassidy also served as a psychiatric case manager before becoming a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and has been an adjust professor in the School of Socal work at UNR since 2020. Throughout her education and career, she was part of various honor societies, a Zero Suicide team lead, and a Reno-Tahoe Young Professionals Network “20 Under 40” award nominee.
As a native Nevadan and proud member of the UNR Wolfpack, Cassidy has volunteered with various organizations supporting the Northern Nevada and university communities, including the Northern Nevada Walk to End Alzheimer’s, UNR Honors College, UNR School of Social Work, and the Reno Mental Health Consortium.
As a clinical assessment specialist at Thrive Wellness, Cassidy provides intake assessments to individuals admitting to Thrive’s higher level of care programs for eating disorder treatment and perinatal mental health. In addition to these disciplines, she is especially passionate about suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention. She firmly believes that suicide is 100% avoidable and that prioritizing mental health should be a preventative practice to promote overall well-being for all. She advocates that everyone deserves a safe space to process their experiences and learn how to live their lives to the fullest.
In her free time, Cassidy enjoys getting outdoors in warmer seasons, walking trails with her Goldendoodle, Max, and taking advantage of the many local events that Northern Nevada has to offer. Fun fact: Max is also a “social woofer” and joins Cassidy in the workplace at times.
