Esther M. Hooley, Ph.D.
Dr. Esther M. Hooley earned a master’s degree in mental health counseling at Trinity International University and a doctorate in counseling psychology at Andrews University. As a licensed psychologist at Thrive Wellness Waco, she helps clients work through conditions and concerns such as anxiety, depression, life adjustments, grief, trauma recovery, relationship conflict, sexuality, and womens’ wellness.
Her approach to therapy takes into account each person’s intersecting identities and treatment is tailored to allow one’s whole self to be present and honored in the therapy space. Her process involves identifying and disentangling long-standing patterns of thinking, feeling, and acting that are often the product of relational wounds or painful experiences.
Dr. Hooley’s goal is to help clients examine and challenge these patterns as well as to identify new ways of being, which provides individuals with the ability to authentically engage with themselves and others. Her work is collaborative and aims to create emotional safety so clients can become empowered by vulnerability and increased insight, and take practical steps to change their lives.
Dr. Hooley has a personal and professional investment in social issues and is intentional about promoting hope and justice in her work. She strives to help individuals navigate difficult situations so that they can experience a sense of zest, healing, and belonging.
