Mindy is an outpatient therapist and clinical professional counselor intern at Thrive Wellness who works with clients of all ages. She has good rapport and connection with children and adolescents. Mindy also works in Thrive’s OCD program and has enjoyed expanding her knowledge in this specialty area.
Mindy has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis in Families and Early Childhood Development from the University of Nevada, Reno. She also has a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health from George Fox University in Portland.
Mindy taught preschool in the public school system for 12 years, and implemented a professional development program for early childhood professionals that earned a Literacy Award from the International Reading Association. She also worked as a treatment home provider for children and teens experiencing acute psychiatric challenges, and as a group leader both in the community and in the Washoe County Jail for substance abuse and domestic violence.
Mindy loves her 19-year-old cat Bubbles and enjoys kayaking in lakes around the Sierra Nevada mountains and having heartfelt conversations with close friends.
