Outpatient Perinatal Services
NURTURING CARE FOR PARENTS AND GROWING FAMILIES
Individual, Couples, and Family Therapy
Perinatal psychotherapy offers a comforting and constructive way to gain insight into your experiences, thoughts, and emotions about such a significant life transition. Our perinatal mental and behavioral health specialists work with you to overcome trauma from birth or otherwise, develop effective coping skills for your PMAD(s), and joyfully embrace new parenthood with pride and confidence. Individual, couples, and family therapy are all options that are available to you and your loved ones at Thrive.
Specialized Reproductive Psychiatry and Medication Management
During initial assessment or at any time during treatment, medication may be presented as an option to encourage your healing or help you better manage life with a PMAD. Our psychiatrists are educated and experienced in identifying, prescribing, and managing medications that are safe and effective for you and your baby. Coupled with psychotherapy, medication can help you cope with your mental health struggles, allow you to fully participate in and enjoy parenthood, and enhance your overall well-being.
Because physical and mental health is intricately intertwined, caring for all aspects of self is essential to the well-being of parents and their babies alike. Our perinatal clinicians work together to provide you with well-balanced health care that heals and nurtures your whole health.
Nutrition Support Services
Nourishing your changing body during the perinatal period can be challenging. Having specialized support from a registered dietician trained in perinatal nutrition can guide you in fueling your body and your baby adequately. Together, you’ll explore nutrients that can help you balance your hormones, increase your energy, and boost your mood. Our registered dietitians will also teach you about intuitive eating so that you can learn to trust that your body will tell you what it needs to take care of you and your growing little one.
Lactation Support Services
For some birthing parents and their babies, breastfeeding (or chestfeeding) can present challenges that lactation support services can help alleviate. Whether you’re still pregnant and simply want to be better prepared or are struggling with latching, milk supply issues, breastfeeding positions, sore nipples, and other common nursing concerns, nutrition support services can provide valuable guidance and promote infant feeding success.
