Frequently Asked Questions
Thrive offers every participant in outpatient treatment an individualized treatment plan. Some clients will benefit from weekly therapy, while others may choose to work with clinicians bi-weekly. For individuals in need of therapy and nutrition support services, clinicians will work together to ensure integrated care.
Nutrition support services with an experienced registered dietitian (RD) are often essential to effective eating disorder treatment and long-term recovery. An RD can assess an eating disorder’s impact on eating habits, movement, and overall health, then provide ongoing nutritional support while helping an individual cultivate a more peaceful relationship with food and the body. This support incorporates guidance to eat in a way that provides adequate energy and includes a wide variety of foods while normalizing eating patterns and challenging the rules and rigidity dictated by an eating disorder. Well-rounded nutrition education is included and can further help each individual better understand the relationship between food and overall health. The ultimate goal of our nutrition support services is to help each individual find a way of fueling and moving their bodies that is authentic, balanced, and sustainable. We support new parents and their families by providing them with care that reinforces their mental, emotional, and overall well-being. Just like many other forms of outpatient therapy, individuals can expect to work one-on-one with a therapist and address the challenges and transitions of new parenthood. At Thrive Sacramento, our perinatal mental health services include individual and family therapy, nutrition counseling, and lactation support services.
For some birthing parents and their babies, breastfeeding (or chestfeeding) can present challenges that lactation support services can help alleviate. Whether you’re still pregnant and simply want to be better prepared or are struggling with latching, milk supply issues, breastfeeding positions, sore nipples, and other common nursing concerns, nutrition support services can provide valuable guidance and promote infant feeding success.
The first step is scheduling an assessment. During the assessment, the patient (and family, if desired) will meet with a clinician to discuss what they are experiencing so an appropriate course of care can be curated. An individualized treatment plan will be recommended following the assessment, and our team will work with you to schedule and coordinate your care.
Insurance coverage varies by provider and care type for outpatient services. Before beginning any treatment or services with Thrive Sacramento, coverage will be verified, and an estimate of the cost will be provided.
Virtual services are available when clinically warranted.
