Eric Nelson

Eric Nelson, LMSW, CSW-Intern, CADC, earned a bachelor’s degree in research psychology with a minor in addictions treatment. He has experience as a drug and alcohol counselor since 2020, working with individuals struggling with sobriety at a local non-profit. He went on to earn a master’s in social work and has experience from his practicum at the Reno VA Medical Center and a local methadone clinic. Eric has worked with individuals with acute mental health symptoms and vulnerable populations within the Reno/Sparks area. He has also supported those who experienced trauma, loss, and grief. Eric advocates for his clients using Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. In his free time, Eric enjoys nature on the riverwalk and spending time with family.
