Give the Gift of Kindness this Holiday Season

Thrive • Dec 07, 2020

The holiday season is a time for giving and spreading cheer! 2020 has been a wild ride, and there have been many ups and downs. What better way to spread some holiday cheer then giving back to the community? One act of kindness can boost feelings of confidence, happiness and optimism. In fact, acts of kindness encourage others to repeat the good deeds they have experienced themselves. Let’s start the snowball effect of good deeds this holiday season! But how do you give back while staying safe? Here are some fun ideas to give back this year:

  1. Donate to your favorite charity. Many charities, organizations, and advocacy websites have options for you to donate online. This is a great no contact way to give back.

  2. Send goodie baskets to your neighbors. Assemble thoughtful goodie baskets and leave them on your neighbor’s doorstep. This is a great way to show you are thinking about them while remaining safe!

  3. Check out some local volunteering opportunities. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities here.

  4. Start a fundraiser on social media for a cause that is near and dear to your heart. Social media is a great way to spread awareness!

  5. Volunteer to go grocery shopping for elderly neighbors or nursing homes. The elderly are the most at risk for COVID-19. Most elderly individuals are not leaving their homes and cannot get groceries for themselves. Leaving some groceries on their doorstep with a nice note would make their day, maybe their whole week!

  6. Write thank you notes to first responders, police, firefighters, and healthcare providers for risking their own health to keep us safe and healthy.

Donate to our Journey Tree!

Thrive is always looking for ways to give back to the community. We partnered up with Trust the Journey Project to help families in need at Renown Hospital. From November 23-December 21st stop by our Roy House location to pick out an ornament. Each ornament has a wish for art supplies, clothes, toys, blankets are more. Then all you have to do is drop off your gift to Roy House unwrapped and in its original packaging! Any gift or donation is extremely appreciated.

Primary care is a field of medicine that involves preventive care, wellness counseling, and treatment of common illnesses. A primary care provider typically provides services that are not specialized but instead revolve around general health and wellness. Examples of primary care include general physicals, pap smears, diagnosis and treatment of common illnesses, and basic in-office procedures. Primary care providers may have a health category they specialize in and feel more comfortable performing in, so it is important to meet your provider before initiating services to ensure they can provide what you are looking for.
